Eau the Music is a self-produced dream pop artist originally from Montréal, now based in Ottawa. Her sound blends vulnerability with hope, softness with strength. Covering themes of self-discovery, transformation and hope, her upcoming album ‘Light in the Dark’ creates dreamlike soundscapes that echo her love of the ethereal, while diving headfirst into catchy melodies and fuzz guitars.
Her album is a deeply personal journey through which her creative voice emerged. She began writing it following a period of profound loss. Meditation was her way through it, and in reconnecting with her emotions and her deepest self, she began to write music, an outlet she never explored before. What started as a way of processing loss became a full creative reawakening, allowing her to reconnect with a version of herself she had known as a child.
She built the entire album herself through instinct and experimentation, teaching herself guitar, vocals, synth, bass and drum programming. ‘In This Silence’, released July 17, was the first track she attempted to mix on her own, a process that took months of trial and instinct before she found the sound she was chasing. The track explores the uncertainty of life's in-between moments, and finding beauty in stillness.
In her live performances she is backed by musicians bringing together a lush and full sound, enveloping her raw energy. Her influences include bands like Metric, Radiohead and Pixies.
‘Light in the Dark’ comes out on October 16, on vinyl and digital formats.

1) Her song ‘Life’ was the title track in a short film in the UK called ‘Back Tide’, by Hellion films, which she also partially scored.
2) She was a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for her songwriting.
